The pieces listed below are organized by the stages of a wedding.  We hope this is of help to those making musical selections for  wedding ceremonies.  If you are interested in classical music for receptions, parties or other events, The String Brothers' perform a wide variety of music from Bach to Ragtime in addition to the pieces shown here.  Some ethnic music is also available for weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, and more.  Please call us if you would like assistance in choosing music for your event.

CLASSICAL MUSIC FOR WEDDING CEREMONIES

The pieces below are the most popular and time-tested from The String Brothers' repertoire.  Your choices should be guided by, but not limited to, these selections.

Processional & Pre-Processional

You will need to choose at least one processional piece, maybe more.  The bride may walk down the aisle to the same piece of music as the bridal party, or she may choose an additional piece that will announce her entrance.  You may also wish to have separate music for the seating of parents or grandparents -this is often referred to as "pre-processional" music.

Prelude, Ceremony, and Postlude

You do not need to choose any music for the prelude or the postlude.  The String Brothers perform a wonderful variety of pieces, many listed below, for these stages of the wedding. You may, however, wish to have special selections played during the ceremony  for the lighting of the unity candle, gifts, communion, and so forth.  Some of these selections would also make fine pre-processional choices.
