John Allen

For two decades John Allen has played flute and saxophone for some of Buffalo’s premiere jazz and dance bands, including Atmosphere and Orchestra Bomplene with Wendell Rivera. But he is probably best known for his spirited solos with The Outer Circle Orchestra, the world-music group that he has performed and recorded with since the 1980’s.

For the past ten years John has been concentrating more on the guitar, his first instrument. As a guitarist, he leads his own trio and frequently performs as a member of The Allen Street Band. John displays his talents on all three of his chosen instruments in his performances with The String Brothers.
