Stuart Fuchs

Stuart Fuchs is an active musician and arts educator in Western New York. Over the past ten years he has been based in Buffalo where he enjoys performing acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, percussion, and didjeridoo. Stuart is quite versatile. He has performed in many styles including: classical, jazz, rock, musical theatre, world-beat, hip-hop, free improvisation, and avante garde.

In 2002 Stuart traveled to Costa Rica for three months, where he met and performed with Grammy-Award winning guitarist Edin Solis (Ruben Blades, Editus). He has also played at the Carousel Concerts Music Festival in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to his talents as a performer, Stuart has composed for live theatre and dance including “Violet” (2002), and a radio play adaptation of David Mamet’s “The Water Engine”.

Stuart is also dedicated to the field of arts-in education, and is currently the music teacher at the Tapestry Charter School. He performs assembly programs for children of all ages through Young Audiences of Western New York. In addition to his work with youth, Stuart has also led workshops for adults in music improvisation for health and wellness in the Buffalo area, the Catskills, and Costa Rica.
